CHITTAGONG: A military aircraft of Malaysia arrived at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport with around 12 tonnes of relief materials for Rohingyas on Saturday.
The aircraft with seven crew members landed at the airport at around 5:45pm.
The relief materials include clothe, rice, date, biscuit, bottled water, cosmetics and water purifying medicines.
Chittagong Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Jillur Rahman Chowdhury received the relief materials from the delivery team Head Vice Admiral Dato Pahlawan HJ Md Adib Bin Abdul Samad.
After receiving the relief, DC Jillur Rahman told the journalists at conference room of the airport that the relief will be sent to Cox’s Bazar through trucks.
Then those will be distributed among the Rohingyas through the DC of Cox’s Bazar, he said.
He thanked the Malaysian government for sending relief for the Rohingyas and hoped that the assistance will remain continued.
Adib Bin Abdul Samad said, “Another aircraft carrying more reliefs will arrive tonight or tomorrow (Sunday) in Dhaka.”
