Bangladesh Mohila Awami League arranged a milad and doa mahfil in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital after Asr prayers on Monday, marking the 41st martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the milad and doa mahfil.
Bangabandhu's younger daughter Sheikh Rehana, PM's daughter Saima Wazed Hossain and her husband Khandaker Mashrur Hossain, Sheikh Rehana’s son Radwan Muijib Siddiq Bobby and his wife Peppi Siddiq and Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, MP, as well as other family members and relatives joined the milad and doa mahfil.
Besides, Awami League Presidium member Begum Matia Chowdhury, AL office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap, Awami Sechchasebak League general secretary Pankaj Devnath, MP, Bangladesh Chhatra League President Saifur Rahman Sohag and leaders and workers of Mohila Awami League and Jubo Mohila League were present.
A special munajat was offered seeking the eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu, Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib and other martyrs of the August 15 carnage.
Prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of the August 21 grenade attack victims.
