Aiming to capture power, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is conspiring to oust the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Friday.
The AL leader came up with this observation in a view exchange meeting with the Awami Swechchasebak League (ASL) at Awami League President's political office at Dhanmondi in the capital.
"Although BNP is speaking of democracy they are orchestrating conspiracy to capture power by overthrowing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," Obaidul Quader told.
The ASL organised the meeting to make a success the AL's January 10 public meeting marking Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day.
Chaired by ASL Chairman Advocate Molla Mohammad Abu Kawsar, the meeting was also addressed by AL Organizing Secretary Krishibid AFM Bahauddin Nasim and ASL General Secretary Pankaj Nath MP and others.
Swechchasebak League central leaders including its thana and ward committee presidents and general secretaries along with presidents and general secretaries of Dhaka city north and south, among others, were present on the occasion.
