A 13-day exhibition of Iranian painter Sarah Hojjati began at Shilpangon Art Gallery in the capital on Sunday.
As part of the 15th Dhaka International Film Festival, Rainbow Film Society, organiser of the festival, and Shilpangon Art Gallery jointly organized the exhibition.
Prominent artist Rafiqun Nabi inaugurated the special exhibition featuring 30 paintings by Hojjati.
With the slogan 'Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society', the Dhaka International Film Festival is going to start at the National Museum auditorium on January 12 to cater to the city's film lovers.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will inaugurate the 10-day festival while Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will be present as special guest.
The other venues of the film festival are Central Public Library auditorium, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, The Edward M Kennedy Center and Star Cinelpex.
A total of 166 films from around 67 countries, including Bangladesh, will be screened in the festival.
The festival will include discussions, seminars, workshops and a competition for Asian and Australian films.
Besides, a two-day conference on 'Third Dhaka International Conference on Women in Cinema 2017' will be held at the Alliance Francaise de Dhaka.
Both the film festival and exhibition will end on January 20.
The exhibition is open for all.
