Road rage case: Arrest warrant issued against Wasim Akram

A Pakistani court has issued an arrest warrant against legendary cricketer Wasim Akram for continuously missing 31 hearings in a "road rage" case filed by him.

Akram, 50, has missed the hearings of the case, that was filed by him in 2015 after his vehicle was fired upon in Karsaz area of Karachi in what the police had described as an incident fueled by "road rage".

The left-arm fast bowler had lodged a complaint with Bahadrabad police, after which a case was registered against a suspect.

Akram, however, has not appeared before the court in 31 hearings to testify in the case.

A judicial magistrate on Monday issued a bailable warrant against the cricketer.

The court has ordered him to appear before it on January 17.
