Zyan Malik turns 24

English singer and songwriter Zain Javadd "Zayn" Malik turned 24 today.

On the occasion of the birthday of the musical sensation the social media is full of wishes from his fans around the world.

The pop music icon - whose album One Direction topped the pop music charts with their first single, "What Makes You Beautiful," when it was released in September 2011 in the United Kingdom - must be feeling the love from her dedicated Beyhive, who took to Twitter to flood the social media site with messages about their artist.

Zayn Malik was born on January 12, 1993, in Bradford, England, to a family of English-Pakistani descent. He had an early love for singing and performing, and at the age of 17 he competed in the television competition The X Factor.

He was teamed up with four other male contestants to form the group act One Direction, who went on to become one of the most popular boy bands in music history.

Malik left the group in March 2015. The following year, he released his first solo album.
