2 teachers of Dhaka University sacked

The Dhaka University (DU) authorities dismissed two teachers on charge of long-term absence and demoted another teacher for plagiarism.

DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (education) Nasreen Ahmad disclosed the matter on Wednesday, UNB reports.

The sacked teachers are assistant Professor of Philosophy Department Dr. Golam Azam and lecturer of Leather Engineering and Technology Institute Hira Lal Pal.

The university syndicate took the action against those teachers on Tuesday night following a probe report, said Nasreen Ahmad.

Moreover, Associate Professor of World Religions and Culture Department M Abu Sayem has been demoted to the position of assistant professor after the syndicate found him guilty of plagiarism in his research, said Nasreen Ahmad.
