High Court asks government to identify Padma bridge defamers

The High Court on Wednesday issued a rule asking the government to explain why it should not be directed to form an inquiry commission to identify the defamers who created fake stories about Padma Bridge Project corruption.

 

The court asked the operative concern of the government to explain why the real culprits behind the false stories should not brought under justice for conducting conspiracy against the nation as well as the government in two weeks.

 

The High Court bench of Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah passed the order in a suo moto move after taking cognizance the reports published in some newspapers on February 14, including daily Inqilab’s ‘Yunuser bichar dabi’.

 

The HC also directed the cabinet secretary to submit a report in 30 days about the progress on formation of the probe commission and its other actions.
