High court rejects Sigma Huda’s writ

The High Court (HC) rejected a writ petition filed by former minister Nazmul Huda’s wife Sigma Huda, challenging the legality of Anti-Corruption Commission’s (ACC) notice about her detail wealth information.

A two member HC bench comprising with justice Md Ruhul Kuddus and justice Visnodeb Chakrobarti passed the order on Wednesday.

According to HC court order, ACC official Khurshid Alam said the notice, which was given by ACC to Sigma Huda, is legal.

From now, there has no legal bar to continue the next investigation, he said.

On January 12, 2009, ACC noticed to Sigma Huda for submitting documents of her detail wealth information. Later, Sigma filed a writ pettion against ACC notice.

On January 27 of the same year, the court stayed the petition after hearing.
