This great Roman wonder is one of the most visited monuments in all of Italy, and therefore is a must for any visitor to Rome. It is by definition the largest amphitheatre in the Roman World.

 

5. Vatican City

 

It wouldn’t be the perfect trip to Rome without venturing into the Vatican City, the smallest state in the world that was built over the tomb of Saint Peter. The star attractions in the Vatican City are the Vatican Museum.
