Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd operated an all-women domestic round-trip flight from Dhaka to Sylhet on Wednesday, marking the International Women's Day.
Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 80 passengers left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 1:50pm, said Tasmin Akhter, Biman's assistant manager (Public Relations).
In its return trip, the flight carrying 160 passengers landed at Dhaka airport around 4pm.
The flight was operated, led by Captain Tania Reza and first officer Sarwat Siraj Antara, with its six other crewmembers - all women.
The national flag carrier took the initiative to fly the all-women flight to encourage more women to the aviation sector, Tasmin said..
