Anti-Corruption Commission on Monday arrested the acting controller of examinations at National University in connection with a corruption case filed for embezzling Tk 1.40 crore.
Md Badruzzaman was arrested from Mirpur area in Dhaka early on Monday, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told reporters. Earlier in February, the anti-graft body held three officials of the university on this charge.
Despite the ministry’s bar, the university gave selection grade to mass recruited employees a few years back.In 2012, a man filed a case in this regard.
In the complaint, it was mentioned that the three officials disregarded the ministry bar and either embezzled Tk 1,04,63,394 or caused a loss for the government. The case was being investigated by Assistant Director of the ACC Fazlul Bari.
