Bangla Academy on Wednesday handed over its latest publication, the second autobiography of Father of the Nation Bangabdnu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina coinciding with his 98th birthday on March 17.
According to the Bangla academy official, “The book titled ‘Karagarer Rojnamcha’ contains 332 page and is set to be launched on March 17."
The book mainly described events and experiences of his imprisonment from 1966 to 1968, the sources said.
Bangla Academy's Director General Shamsuzzanan Khan handed over the copies of the book to the premier and Bangabandhu's younger daughter Sheikh Rehana at Gonobhaban this afternoon.
The Prime Minister while speaking on the occasion said the then Pakistan government seized two dairies written by Bangabandhu when he was released in December 1969.
"However one of the diaries was recovered with the help of the Special Branch after her Awami League government came to power in 2009," she said.
The premier said the autobiography of Bangabandhu on his China visit and Agartala Conspiracy Case was expected to be published soon. She thanked Bangla Academy for publishing the book.
