IS claims responsibility for Ashkona suicide attack

The international militants group Islamic State (IS) has claimed the responsibility for the suicide bomb attack at proposed RAB Headquarter near Haji camp in Dhaka’s Ashkona area.

IS claimed the responsibility through a telegram from messaging app of its news media Amaq. A youth was killed in this attack at around 1:00 pm on Friday noon, reports BBC Bangla.

Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of legal and media wing of RAB headquarters, claimed an unidentified young man entered the under-construction site in Ashkona climbing the wall of adjacent Hajj camp around 1:05pm.

The unknown youth detonated the bombs fixed with his body as RAB members challenged him.

The youth died on the spot as his body was shredded, Mahmud Khan told adding two RAB men also injured in this blast and were rushed to the hospital.
