3 bombs recovered from slain Khilgaon attacker’s bag

Three bombs were recovered from a bag of the slain attacker who was trying to attack at Khilgaon Rapid Action Battalion-3 (Rab-3) checkpost at Shekher Jaiga area on Saturday morning.


Rab’s bomb disposal unit defused two bombs.


Rab-3 Lieutenant Col Tuhin Mohammad Masud confirmed the matter to media.


An unidentified suicide bomber, aged around 20 to 25, was trying to attack the checkpost around 4:00am, he said. The militant riding a motorcycle, was coming to checkpost, the law enforcers were firing to resist him, leaving him dead on the spot.


Two Rab members were also injured in the incident, the Rab official said.


The two injured have been admitted to Mugda Hospital.


The Rab official said after firing, the youth fell from the bike, leaving him dead on the spot.  Then, his body was searching by metal detector. After signaled, they identified three bombs and defused those.


There are few resident at Shekher Jaiga area where the incident occurred. Only a tin-shed house was seen at the area.
