Sri Lanka had the upper hand going into the lunch break, having gone past Bangladesh’s first innings total on Day-4 of the 2nd match of Joy Bangla Cup series at P Sara Oval, Colombo on Saturday.

 

The second-wicket partnership between Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis with 80 runs in 43 overs helped Sri Lanka to take lead 8 runs with 9 wickets remaining at lunch.

 

Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis were on batting, scoring 67 off 133 balls and 36 runs off 85 balls respectively.

 

 Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Mendis placed Sri Lanka in a commanding position early hours today. Dimuth Karunaratne gets his half century before lunch on the fourth day.

 

Earlier, Bangladesh spinner Mehidi dismissed the only wicket of opener Tharanga (26 off 40b; 3×4) at 57/1 in 15 overs.

 

Sri Lanka were 54-0 at stumps on the third day after bowling out Bangladesh for 467 runs in their first innings of the second Test in Colombo on Friday.
