‘Criminal’ shot in Khulna ‘gunfight’


A criminal was shot and two cops were injured in a gunfight with police at Choto Boira textile mill field area in Sonadanga of the city early Sunday.


The terrorist Tunda Shamim, 28, has been admitted to Khulna Medical college hospital’s prison cell. The injured two cops are sub-inspector Pallab and sub-inspector  Sanjib.


Officer-in-charge Md Mamtajul Haque said the gunfight occurred while police arrested terrorist Shamim with one pistol and two round bullets.


Sensing presence of the law enforcers, Shamim’s associate fired on them, prompting to retaliate, police fired back, triggering a gunfight, leaving Shamim and two cops injured.
