Google doodle marks Pahela Baishakh

Search engine giant Google has created a new doodle on its homepage, marking the Bengali New Year, UNB reports.

The new doodle shows an owl, a tiger, a bird, and a sunflower which depicts ‘Mongol Shobhajatra’ brought out in the capital and some other cities as part of New Year celebration.

Google marks many special occasions with customised doodles (it changes its logo on the search engine’s homepage to reflect the occasion), from Pahela Baishakh days to civil rights or any trending topic.

The nation on Friday is celebrating Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla calendar, amid traditional festivities.
