Sonu Nigam under harsh criticism for his tweets on Azaan

Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam jumped into boiled water by commenting on Azaan, an announcement for prayer time of Muslim, on Monday morning through the social media platform Twitter.

The singer took to Twitter early in the morning when he found himself awaken by the early morning Azaan from a mosque presumably near his house. The singer was apparently so displeased by the sound of Azaan that he termed it as “forced religiousness”.

Sonu then went on a Twitter rant as he put out a series of tweets on the subject and even questioned, “Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?”

Clearly, Sonu didn’t see what was coming his way next, as he continued posting a series of controversial tweets, for which he drew flak from his fans and followers that called him all sorts of names for being “insensitive” and “derogatory”.
