Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim said Sunday it is not a matter at all who will take part or not in the next general elections to be held in due time under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in line with the constitution.
Mohammed Nasim also a presidium member of the ruling Awami League made this observation while speaking at a discussion at the auditorium of Institute of Engineers in the capital.
Without mentioning name of any party, Nasim told that it matters nothing which party will take part or not in the next general election, BSS reports.
In veiled reference to BNP, Nasim said, "We will not pay heed to any request over the next general election. The polls will be held in due time under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in accordance with the constitution."
He also said, "Those, who did not take part in the (last) election and killed people by carrying out arson attacks, are now talking about democracy. The word democracy doesn't suit in the mouth of the killers."
The minister called upon all to build a greater united resistance against the spurious medicines to stop the selling of those medicines.
Homeopathy teachers and doctors organised the discussion with Chairman of Homeopathy Board Chairman Dr. Dilip Roy in the chair.
Among others, Dhaka South City Awami League General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad spoke on the occasion.
