Young student leaders commit to prevent corruption

Young student leaders commit to prevent corruption

Young leaders of the school level Integrity Unit at a meeting in Rangpur this afternoon expressed firm commitment for becoming patriotic citizens to work with honesty for preventing corruption from the society. 

They also committed to disseminate values of good moral character and honesty for creating anti-corruption sentiment among their classmates to change behavior in building a developed Sonar Bangla free from corruption and irregularities. 

They came up with the commitments at the quarterly corruption prevention affairs coordination meeting held at Chandanpat High School under Sadar upazila in the district. 

The District Combined Office of Anti Corruption Commission and RDRS Bangladesh organised the meeting with assistance of the Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project being funded by German Development Cooperation. 

Members of district Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) and Integrity Unit of Chandanpat High School, Advisors of the Integrity Unit, Members of the Governing Body of the school participated. 

Chairman of Chandanpat union Aminur Rahman attended the meeting as the chief guest with Headmaster of the school Md Rafiqul Islam in the chair. 

Members of the district CPC Banamali Paul and senior journalist Mamun Islam and Advisor of the Integrity Unit Aiyub Ali addressed as special guests. 

District Manager of JRCP Project of RDRS Bangladesh Ershad Md Rasel moderated the meeting facilitated by its Field Facilitator Azim Ali. 

President of the Integrity Unit Morsalin Hossain, its Vice-president Miss Farzana Akhter and General Secretary Abdullah Al Miyad narrated their anti-corruption activities, desire and future organisational action plans. 

General Secretary of the Integrity Unit Abdullah Al Miyad expressed firm commitment of 786 students of his school in creating social awareness to eliminate corruption and social curses like child marriage and drug abuse from the society. 

Vice-president of the Integrity Unit Miss Hamza Khatun said, "We will work unitedly to create anti-corruption sentiment among the young students as well as common people for building a corruption free society to further accelerate development." 

President of the Integrity Unit Morsalin Hossain said, "The common students of our school will now practice honesty through running a 'Satota Store' at their own and largely take part in extracurricular activities against corruption." 

The chief guest appreciated activities of the Integrity Unit in creating awareness among the students through extracurricular and anti-corruption works and appreciated their future action plans to prevent corruption. 

Headmaster Md Rafiqul Islam stressed on creating anti-corruption sentiment among the young school students and enhancing their capacity to motivate their classmates, family members and common people against corruption.
