BNP tries to create a militant state: Shajahan Khan

Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan on Friday said that Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) by promoting better relationship with Pakistan was basically trying to create a militant state.

He accused BNP of trying to destabilise Sheikh Hasina's government by disruptive activities including patronisation of militants, BSS reports.

The minister was inaugurating 20 dredging vessels, here.

He said that the government had allocated over Taka one thousand crore for the scheme but even that was not enough for the country's needs. Therefore, the government had taken up a Taka 32 hundred crore project for implementing capital dredging in the country, he said.

He also highlighted various steps taken by the government to improve navigation in the country.

Chairman of BIWTA Commodore M Mozammel Huq and local legislators were present on the occasion.
