Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Friday said militant attacks will come down sharply if BNP takes part in the next general election.
The minister came up with the remarks without further elaboration after inaugurating a mosque at Sundalpur village in Kabirhat upazila at noon, UNB reports.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said the government is successfully tackling militancy in the country. "Police, RAB and Army have been on high alert to uproot the menace."
He, however, said the militants have plans to carry out big attacks in the country although their strength has waned.
The minister said Ecnec has recently approved a Tk 21,000 crore project to build 560 model mosques across the country.
