A three-day international exposition on food processing technology will be held in Dhaka in November.

Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association (BAPA) disclosed it at a press conference at Dhaka Club in the capital on Sunday.

The organisers said agro processors from 15 countries will participate in the conference at International Convention City Bashundhara from November 23 to 25.

They said the expo will play role as a ‘strong platform’ for the local and international agro processors to share latest knowledge which will boost the growth of the sector.

The expo will cover all sections, including farmers, agro start-ups, financial institutions as well as people related to other agriculture items, said the organisers, reports UNB.

BAPA President AFM Fakhrul Islam Munshi said 479 members of the trade body are exporting $ 200 million annually and the figure is expected to reach $ 1 billion by 2021.

General Secretary of the trade body Masudur Rahman, Treasurer Md Golam Sharif Chowdhury and Expo Convener Mazmul Haq Nazim also spoke on the occasion.
