A housewife was killed and her husband injured in a road accident on Jhikargachha-Bakra road at Mohadebpur in Monirampur Upazila on Saturday, reports UNB.

Witnesses said the accident took place when a pickup van hit a motorcycle injuring a couple -- Lucky Khatun, 26, and her husband Mosharraf Hossain, at Mohadebpur around2:30pm.

They were taken to GeneralHospital. As Lucky's condition deteriorated, she was referred toDhakaMedicalCollegeand Hospital (DMCH), but she died on the way while being moved to the DMCH.

Mosharraf, who returned from Malaysia recently, his wife and their son, Alvi, were travelling by the motorcycle.

Alvi, however, escaped the accident unhurt.
