Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said that his party will start making all-out preparations for the next general elections from today.
“We are going to hold an extended meeting on Saturday to talk about the preparations for the next general elections. We will start all-out preparations for the next polls.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, came up with the remarks while addressing a discussion arranged by Jubo League at Shilpakala Academy in the capital.
He also bashed BNP for their habit of complaining to foreigners.
“Foreigners will not restore BNP to power. The country’s people are the source of power. If you have any complains, inform it to the people,” he said.
He called upon BNP not to tarnish the image of the country’s 16 crore people through lobbying foreigners.
Quader also alleged that BNP secretly tried to create another chaotic situation in May using Hefazat-e-Islami.
Turning down the call of reconciliation of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, he said reaching any settlement with BNP is not possible, as they have foiled such environment through various misdeeds.
