BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir denounced the police raid at BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in the capital on Saturday.
Hel said: “Government is intentionally destroying the practice of democracy in the country.”
He made this remark a press briefing at his own residence in Thakurgaon on Saturday.
“After raiding three times at Khaleda’s Gulshan office, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina proved that there is no democracy in Bangladesh,” Fakhrul said.
“Bangladesh has been made a fully anti-democracy country. The prime minister is running the country by law enforcers,” he said.
Thakurgaon district BNP convener Taimur Rahman, municipality mayor Mirza Faisal and among others were present in the meeting.
