Dhaka University vice chancellor for better primary education to get worthy citizens

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique on Wednesday suggested strengthening the foundation of the elementary education to groom the new generation as worthy citizens of the country, reports BSS.

 

“It is impossible to achieve expected success in higher education unless the foundation of primary education is strengthened,” a DU press release quoted Professor Arefin as saying as chief guest at the inaugural function of a workshop.

 

DU Institute of Education and Research (IER) is organizing the two-day workshop on “Effective Implementation of DPEd Programme” at the institute building on the campus.

 

DU IER Director Professor Husne Ara Begum chaired the inaugural function while coordinator of the workshop Professor Sharmin Haq delivered welcome speech.

 

Prof Arefin suggested presenting education interestingly to children and said teaching method should be modernized to make them interested in the studies.

 

He urged the primary schoolteachers to play a responsible role in this regard.

 

More than 50 trainers from different Primary Training Institute (PTI) across the country are taking part in the workshop.
