A roundtable discussion on new VAT rate, its possible impact and different aspects of the proposed budget for fiscal year 2017-18 begins at East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL) conference room at Bashundhara residential area in the capital on Sunday.
The roundtable styled “New VAT rate: Impact on Business and Consumers” has been organised by the Daily Sun, an English language daily of the EWMGL. EWMGL is the largest media house of Bangladesh and a concern of country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group.
AB Bank has sponsored the roundtable while TV channel News24 is the media partner.
Starting at 3pm, the roundtable will continue until 5pm.
State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan MP is the chief guest of the programme.
Leaders of FBCCI and other business organisations, economic experts and research fellows have attended the occasion. The roundtable aims at discussing impacts of fresh VAT rate which is higher than that of the previous years.Finance Minister AMA Muhith announced the proposed budget on June 2.
