Eminent cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle believes that Bangladesh cricket team are well deserved to play in the semi-final against India in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Harsha also rated Bangladesh’s win over New Zealand as one of the best ever ODI wins.
“I think Bangladesh had a bit of luck against Australia as rain favoured them. But they proved they are also the strong contender in the semis.
They beat New Zealand in uncompromising fashion. They played their best cricket and fortune favoured the brave,” Harsha told daily sun when he was preparing to leave the Birmingham Stadium on Tuesday.
With many Bangladesh’s famous win in front of his eyes, the renowned Indian commentator rated Bangladesh’s win over New Zealand as one of the best ever in the history of Bangladesh cricket.
The famous commentator also thinks that Bangladesh’s wins over the world-beating Australian team and England in 2015 are also the memorable victories, but their triumph over the Black Caps was fantastic.
Few days ago he tweeted, “There was a time when teams used to go to Bangladesh and wish the home team batted first so the game got over early. What a transformation!”
Asked Harsha about Tigers’ chance to win against India in the semi-final, always witty and friendly Harsha replied he cannot predict the match result but he believes it will be an impactful match.
He has been always beside Bangladesh cricket even in bad times. He hailed Bangladesh team when they were defeated by India in dramatic fashion in ICC T20 world Cup last year.
Recently the veteran commentator also advised Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that they should take proper care of Mahmudullah as he is a big asset for Bangladesh cricket. Mahmudullah smashed three match-defining centuries in the ICC Champions Trophy tournament that came against England and New Zealand.
“India should not worry about rain. We cannot control the rain, rather than rain can dash Bangladesh’ dream,” Harsha laughed and left.
