CHITTAGONG: Police recovered body of a minor girl, who went missing two days ago, from a wooden box in the city’s Badurtala area early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Salma Akter, 9, daughter of Solaiman Chowdhury of the city’s Shah Amanat Housing Society area.
Salma was a class-II student of a Cadet Madrasha in Badurtala area. Her father Solaiman is salesman of a transport company and central joint secretary general of CNG-run Auto-rickshaw Workers’ Union.
Sources said Salma went missing on her way to her father’s work place in Bahoddarhat area on Tuesday afternoon.
Her family lodged a General Diary (GD) with Panchlaish Police Station in this connection.
The victim’s family collected some video footages of the area and noticed Salma standing in front of one Mouniya Market Building in the same area.
Later, the family searched for her in the building, but didn’t find on Tuesday night.
