Two siblings were washed away by flood water at Fatekharkul Poraiennapara village in Ramu upazila on Thursday morning.
The victims are Shahin, 10 and Fahim, 8, sons of M Kamal of the village, were playing in waist-deep water in their own yard around 11am, UNB reports.
At one stage, the two brothers were washed away by a strong current of the flood water, said Riazul Alam, chairman of Ramu Upazila Parishad.
Later, locals recovered their bodies after half an hour.
Several hundred houses of the upazila were submerged due to the onrush of water from the hilly regions triggered by torrential rainfall, forcing the dwellers to lead miserable lives, said the chairman.
