Television actress Alka Kaushal, who is also known for her roles as Kareena Kapoor Khan’s mother in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and Kangana Ranaut’s mom in ‘Queen’, was recently sentenced to a two-year jail term along with her mother.
Apparently, the actress and her mother had borrowed Rs 50 lakh from a farmer based in Lagrian village, to make a serial but failed to return his money. Alka had handed over two cheques of Rs 25 lakh each but the farmer's advocate claimed that they bounced. The farmer had moved the Malerkotla court back in 2015, which sentenced them to jail. Alka then appealed to a higher court at Sangrur for some relief, but the additional session's court upheld the lower court's decision. Reportedly, the actress and her mother are currently in Sangrur district jail, reports Times of India.
