JnU student missing for 51 days!

A student of Jagannath University (JnU) allegedly remained missing from his mess in the capital for 51 days.

The student is Md Sadekul Islam Milon, a third year student of Physics Department of the university.

This was learnt from a human chain formed by the victim’s parents and friends on the university campus on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim’s parents and friends alleged that eight to 10 persons, introducing themselves as members of Detective Branch (DB) of police, picked up Sadekul Islam from his mess in Mohammadpur area at dead of night on May 23.

“Introducing themselves as members of DB, eight to 10 persons picked up Sadekul Islam from his Mohammadpur mess on May 23. Since then, he remained missing,” alleged victim’s parents and friends at the human chain.

Sadekul’s father Md Khairat Ali said, “I am a poor man from village and I don’t know what to do to find out my son.”

He also urged the university administration and government to take initiatives to find out the whereabouts of Sadekul.

On May 25, the victim’s brother-in-law filed a General Diary (GD No-1159) with Adabor police station.

Contacted, JnU proctor Dr Nur Mohammad told this correspondent, “We are trying to contact high-ranking police, DB and RAB officials to find out whereabouts of Sadekul Islam.”
