Railway Minister Mujibul Haque has said the government has taken initiatives to set up rail link from Madhukhali of Faridpur to Thakurbari of Magura upazila.
"The government would set up 23 kilometers of railways from Madhukhali to Magura through Kamarkhali to facilitate transportation for the people of the area," he said while visiting the proposed rail track and the station area in Thakurbari area of Magura Sadar upazila, reports UNB.
Railways Secretary Mofazzal Hossain, Prime Minister's Assistant Private Secretary Saifuzzaman Shikhar, Magura district Awami League (AL) General Secretary Pankaj Kundu were present, among others.
"At the directive of the Prime Minister, the project would be implemented soon for the welfare of the people of the area," he added.
Later, the minister spoke at a discussion as the chief guest at Ramnagar High School ground organised by local AL.
