Both the bourses -Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed a positive trend during the first hours of trading on Monday, the second session of the week.
The benchmark index of the DSE advanced 24.66 points, while the Selective Category Index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose to 49.79 points after the first one hour of the day's trading.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 24.66 points or 0.42 percent to stand at 5,826.70 at 11:41am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 3.44 points or 0.26 per cent to stand at 1,314.24 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 4.57 points or 0.21 per cent to stand at 2,131.38 points.
Trade deals stood at 44,112 with transaction at over Tk 3,043.56 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 172 advanced, 75 declined and 59 issues remained unchanged.
BBS Cables Limited, which today introduces itself in trading at DSE, dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 542.62 million changing hands till then.
The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX-advancing 49.79 points to stand at 10909.58 points, also at 11:40am.
Of the issues traded till then, 103 gained, 31 declined and 25 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 215.59 million.
