Visiting Vietnam vice minister Dang Dinh Quy has laid emphasis on joint efforts to utilise the existing potential of greater trade and investment between Bangladesh and Vietnam.
He conveyed Vietnam’s interest to enhance bilateral trade between the two countries and suggested the investors of Vietnam and Bangladesh to go for exploring investment opportunities in both the countries, reports UNB.
The issues came up for discussion when Quy, vice minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam at the latter’s office on Sunday.
The Vice Minister also led the Vietnam delegation for the first Foreign Office Consultation between the two countries.
Shahriar highlighted longstanding friendship and goodwill between the two countries and stressed on the need for more exchange of visits at high political level.
Praising Vietnam’s remarkable economic development in the last decade, the State Minister stressed intensifying trade and investment between Bangladesh and Vietnam.
He emphasized on the need for more business to business contact between the two countries and invited Vietnam to explore investment opportunities in Bangladesh through joint ventures.
Shahriar sought Vietnam’s cooperation in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
He sought Vietnam’s support for Bangladesh’s desire to become a dialogue partner of ASEA
Vice Minister Dang Dinh Quy welcomed Bangladesh’s interest to build institutional relations with the ASEAN.
