Both the bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed positive trends in the early hours of trading on Monday, the second session of the week.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 12.53 points or 0.21 percent to stand at 5,920.16 at 12:09 pm.
But the two other indices at DSE edged lower. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 0.41 points or 0.03 percent to stand at 1,312.70 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also declined 0.59 points or 0.02 percent to stand at 2,129.48 points.
Trade deals stood at 60,771 with transaction at over Tk 4,994.70 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 132 advanced, 145 declined and 44 issues remained unchanged.
IFIC Bank Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 463.15 million changing hands till then followed by Eastern Bank (Tk 272.94 million), BBS Cables (Tk 248.25 million) and City Bank (Tk 179.95 million).
The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - advancing 39.40 points to stand at 11,104.39 points, also at 12:07 pm.
Of the issues traded till then, 98 gained, 84 declined and 29 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 285 million..
