Twelve get death sentence in murder of Tangail college student Rajan Sarkar

A Tangail court has awarded death penalty to twelve people for murdering college student Rajan Sarkar three years ago.

 

After examining all the records and witnesses, Tangail Special Judge Wahiduzzaman handed down the verdict. on Tuesday morning.

 

The name of the condemned convicts could not be known immediately.

 

Among the 12 convicts, four remained absconding.

 

According to case statement, the convicted people attacked the house of Lal Miah at Bhalokutia village of the upazila on April 13, 2014 over previous enmity.

 

Later, they beat the college boy Razon, son of Lal Miah, mercilessly, leaving him critically injured.

 

Razon died on the way to Dhaka.

 

Later, a case was filed accusing 18 people.

 

Police submitted chargesheet against 12 people.
