Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali has called for promoting cultural, education and economic relations between Bangladesh and India.

“Bangladesh and India share a long history of cultural, educational and economic relations and it is imperative to further strengthen the mutually beneficial bond,” Muazzem Ali said during a visit to Aligarh Muslim University this week.

During the visit he interacted with the students of the university, including those from Bangladesh, said a press release on Thursday, reports UNB.

The High Commissioner said students are torch bearers and goodwill ambassadors and they should do their best to use the facilities offered by the university.

He was accompanied by Counsellor AFM Zahid-Ul-Islam during the visit.

AMU Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor welcomed the envoy saying the visit will open a new door of educational cooperation and exchange programmes between the university and institutions of Bangladesh.
