Nasir Hossain, the Bangladesh allrounder wants to cement his place with worthy performances in the upcoming Test series against Australia.
The hardworking all rounder who made his way through the team after a span of two years thought performance is the answer to all questions.
"Performance is the answer to every questions, whether a player is playing for the national team or any other team, it is not possible to keep your slot without performing well" said Nasir to the reporters at Mirpur Stadium on Sunday.
Nasir also said he is focused on putting a good show wherever the team management wants to send him in. " I have got my own plans, I played in the BPL and in the national league under the light of it, if I get the chance I will try my best to put up a good show" "My position is number six or seven, when I bat I don't get many batsmen in the opposite end, so I have some added responsibilities, sometimes I have to go slow sometimes I have to score fast" added Nasir.
He said that he was expecting a call and wasn't surprised by it. "I performed good in the domestic scene and gradually waited for my call, however I believe the competition is fierce and the door is open for all. I knew that I would have to perform to get into the Test squad. Wherever I have played, whether it's the national league or the BPL, I have tried to perform".
Nasir also added that he loves to bowl. " I enjoy the bowling and hope I will get the opportunity to bowl and I want to serve the team with the ball also" said Nasir. Nasir's batting average is 37.34 in 17 Test matches; he has scored one century and six fifties.
However he has scalped only eight wickets conceding 51 runs per wicket. He also appeared excited with the chance of playing Test cricket against Australia.
"I am excited to play against Australia and the series takes place after a gap of 11 years, many players like me never had the experienced playing against them in Test cricket.
