Both the bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - witnessed an upward trend during the first hours of trading on Monday, the second session of the week.
The benchmark index of the DSE advanced 8.58 points while the Selective Category Index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) rose to 12.82 points after the first one hour of the day's trading.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), gained 8.58 points or 0.14 percent to stand at 5,827.86 at 11:39 am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) went up by 1.61 points or 0.12 percent to stand at 1,302.65 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also advanced 2.47 points or 0.11 percent to stand at 2,101.25 points.
Trade deals stood at 36,975 with transaction at over Tk 2,137.36 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 124 advanced, 103 declined and 74 issues remained unchanged.
BBS Cables Limited, which today introduces itself in trading at DSE, dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 183.92 million changing hands till then.
The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX - advancing 12.82 points to stand at 10,940.18 points also at 11:37 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 63 gained, 62 declined and 35 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 92.9 million.
