Both the bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- witnessed negative trends in the early hours of trading on Wednesday, the fourth session of the week.
The benchmark index of the DSE went down by 4.18 points, while the Selective Category Index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) shed 9.04 points.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), declined 4.18 points or 0.07 percent to stand at 5,858.15 at 11:55 am.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 2.03 points or 0.15 percent to stand at 1,305.34 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips also shed 0.85 points or 0.04 percent to stand at 2,104.18 points.
Trade deals stood at 53,197 with transaction at over Tk 3,683.42 million on the DSE.
Of the issues traded till then, 114 advanced, 139 declined and 56 issues remained unchanged.
Bangladesh Building Systems Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 629.13 million changing hands till then.
The port city bourse also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index - CSCX- losing 9.04 points to stand at 10,998.06 points, also at 11:52 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 71 gained, 91 declined and 29 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 166.16 million.
