Amu seeks withdrawal of observations in 16th amendment verdict

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu has urged Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha to withdraw some of the observations in the judgment scrapping the 16th amendment to the constitution.

 

The minister made the call while addressing as chief guest a discussion at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium in the city on Wednesday, reports BSS.

 

Dhaka North City unit of Awami Jubo League organised the meeting marking the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Victory Day.

 

Jubo League Chairman Mohammad Omar Faruque Chowdhury, General Secretary Harunur Rashid and Dhaka Union of Journalists President Saban Mahmud, among others, addressed the discussion as special guests with Jubo League North unit President Mainul Hossain Khan was in the chair.

 

Dhaka City North Jubo League President Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat and General Secretary Ismail Hossain also addressed the discussion while Jubo League South unit General Secretary Tasbirul Haq Tanu conducted it.

 

Amu, also an AL advisory council member, said Bangladesh is now established as a role model in the world under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
