Trading on the country's two bourses - Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) - is underway with upward trends of share-price indices on Sunday.
After first one hour of the day's trading, the benchmark index of the DSE advanced 38.94 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 74.16 points.
DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 38.94 points or 0.66 percent to stand at 5,924.36 at 11:51 am.
The two other indices also edged higher.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 3.36 points or 0.25 percent to stand at 1,308.98 points. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 9.25 points or 0.43 percent to stand at 2,120.60.
Trade deals stood at 44,713 shares to stand at Tk 3,047.1 million on the DSE, riding on LankaBangla Finance and Ratanpur Steel Re-Rolling Mills.
Of the issues traded, 173 advanced, 90 declined and 51 remained unchanged.
LankaBangla Finance Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 194.40 million having changed hands.
Following the suit, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Categories Index (CSCX) climbed up to 11,109.88 by gaining over 74.16 points at about 11:49 am.
Out of the issues traded, 105 gained, 51 declined and 30 remained unchanged..
