President flies to Kazakhastan Saturday

President Abdul Hamid will leave Dhaka on Saturday for Kazakhstan to attend the First Summit of OIC on Science and Technology to be held in Astana on September 10-11, reports UNB.

The President will depart Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Astana by Bangladesh Biman VVIP flight BG-1907 at 2:45 pm, President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin said.

Hamid will lead a Bangladesh delegation to the OIC summit. The delegation includes the officials from the Office of the President, and Foreign Affairs and Science and Technology ministries.

The summit is expected to discuss and adopt the OIC Ten Year Action Plan on Science and Technology ‘OIC STI Agenda 2026’.

President Hamid will make a statement at the summit where he will call for creating a new story of development for the wellbeing of the Muslim Ummah through active cooperation in science and technology.

He will emphasise that the contributions of the member states individually, jointly or collectively to science and technology would enhance the image of the Muslims, embolden their position in the world and give them due respect in global debate and discourse while improving the conditions of the Ummah.
