Villagers clash in Sunamganj leaves two dead

Two villagers have been killed and at least 20 others injured in a clash between two groups of villagers in Dowarabazar upazila of Sunamganj over previous enmity.

 

The deceased were identified as Moazzem, a resident of Sarishpur village and Ebadullah, 60, a resident of Berigaon village, UNB reports.

 

Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Dowarabazar Police Station, said that there had been long standing dispute between the villagers of Sarishpur and Rezigaon village.

 

Over the enmity, the villagers locked in a fierce clash on Saturday morning, leaving two villagers dead on the spot and 20 others injured.

 

Additional police team is on way to the villages for bringing the situation under control, added the OC.
