Pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been picked by Rajshahi Kings for the upcoming fifth edition of Bangladesh Premier League T20.
Mustafizur was the icon cricketer of BPL 2017. But he remained unpicked when Barisal Bulls were expelled from the tournament. He was the only local cricketer with A+ grade in the draft. Rajshahi became lucky of getting the opportunity to call first. The franchise took no time to name the Fizz as their first local pick.
The draft was held at the Radisson Hotel in the capital on Saturday (today).
The team also includes Bangladesh Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim while the draft was conducted by Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Mahbub Anam.
According to sources, a total of 140 local and 208 overseas players are named in the fifth edition of the BPL players’ draft.
According to Espncricinfo report, Mustafizur will receive $60,000 as the only player in Grade A+ in the local list.
Mustafizur will return to BPL after a gap of one year. He played for Dhaka Dynamites in 2015. Rajshahi have retained Rony Talukar and also picked former U19 wicket-keeper Zakir Hasan.
