A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) for development of water extraction system to eliminate waterlogging in Dhaka-Narayanganj-Demra (DND) area.
The deal signing ceremony titled ‘Development of water extraction system in DND area (2nd phase)’ was held at the conference room of BWDB on Thursday.
BWDB prepared the project ‘Development of water extraction system in DND area (2nd phase)’ in the light of the recommendation of the consultant’s organisation (DDC-CEGIS-RRI).
The project, worth Tk 55819.79 will be implemented from 01 July 2016 to 30 June 2020, was approved by ECNEC on August 09, 2016.
Minister of Water Resources Anisul Islam Mahmud, Senior Secretary of Water Resources Dr Jafar Ahmed Khan, Brig Gen Iftekhar Anis, Lt Col Mohammad Rumi Nourin Khan, among others, were present at the programme.
