Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque left Dhaka for China on Friday night to join the 86th Interpol General Assembly.
He has been leading a 5-member Bangladesh delegation in the 4-day conference which will formally begin at China National Convention Centre in Beijing, the capital city of China, on September 26 and it will be ended on September 29, said Soheli Ferdous, AIG (Media) of the Police Headquarters.
Other members of the delegation are-DIG (Ops) of Phqs Barrister Mahbubur Rahman, AIG (NCB) Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, AIG (Intelligence and special Affairs) Md Moniruzzaman and Additional SP Akhter Hossain, reports UNB.
The IGP is scheduled to deliver speech on " Counter Terrorism: Bangladesh Perspective" at the conference where representatives from member states of Interpol will sit in meetings, aiming to increase cooperation among them about controlling crimes.
The IGP will also exchange views of mutual interests with chiefs of police of various countries.
